Last updated: March 8, 2026
PDFLove ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the PDFLove mobile application (the "App").
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Device Information
When you use the App, we automatically collect basic device information to provide and improve our services:
- Device model, manufacturer, and platform (Android/iOS)
- Operating system version
- App version and build number
- A unique device identifier for subscription management
- Screen resolution
1.2 Documents and Scans
All documents you scan, import, or create within the App are stored locally on your device. We do not upload, access, or store your documents on any server. Your scanned documents, images, PDFs, and extracted text remain entirely under your control.
1.3 OCR Data
Text recognition (OCR) is performed entirely on your device using Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition. No images or text are sent to external servers for OCR processing.
1.4 Vault Data
Your vault PIN is stored securely on your device using platform-specific encrypted storage (Android Keystore on Android, iOS Keychain on iOS). Vault files are encrypted at rest using AES-256-CBC encryption with keys stored in hardware-backed secure storage. We do not have access to your vault PIN or encryption keys and cannot recover them if lost.
1.5 PDF Password Protection
Passwords applied to PDF files are stored locally on your device. Password-protected PDFs are encrypted using industry-standard PDF encryption. We do not have access to your PDF passwords and cannot recover them if lost.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected device information to:
- Provide and maintain the App's functionality
- Manage subscriptions and premium features
- Improve and optimize the App experience
- Provide customer support when requested
3. Data Storage and Security
- Local-first architecture: All documents, scans, and OCR data are stored locally on your device.
- AES-256 encrypted vault: Sensitive documents are encrypted at rest using AES-256-CBC encryption with hardware-backed key storage.
- PDF password protection: Individual PDFs can be password-protected with industry-standard encryption.
- Encrypted credentials: Vault PINs and encryption keys are stored using platform-specific secure storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain).
- On-device processing: All scanning, OCR, PDF tools, and encryption happen entirely on your device.
- No cloud uploads: Your documents are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party cloud service.
4. Third-Party Services
The App may use the following third-party services:
- Google ML Kit: For on-device text recognition (OCR). Processing happens locally; no data is sent to Google.
- Google Play Billing / Apple App Store: For in-app purchases and subscription management. Purchase data is handled by Google or Apple according to their respective privacy policies.
5. Permissions
