About PDFLove
Free PDF tools & document scanner — private by design.
PDFLove is a free suite of PDF tools and a document-scanner app built on one simple idea: the everyday things people do with PDFs — merging, splitting, converting, compressing, signing and protecting — should be free, fast and private, without accounts, watermarks, or your files being uploaded to someone else's server.
What we make
There are two sides to PDFLove:
- Online PDF tools at pdflove.co/tools — more than twenty browser-based tools that run entirely on your device. Because the work happens in your browser, your documents never leave your computer, and most tools keep working even with your internet disconnected.
- The PDFLove mobile app for Android and iOS — a document scanner with on-device OCR in 20+ languages, an AES-256 encrypted vault, digital signatures, and the same PDF toolkit in your pocket.
Why we built it
Most PDF websites do the opposite of what we wanted: they upload your files to a server, cap you after a few free uses, stamp watermarks on the result, or push a subscription for the basics. We believe working with your own documents shouldn't cost you your privacy or your money. So PDFLove processes files locally wherever it is technically possible, keeps every feature free, and never asks you to create an account.
How PDFLove stays free
PDFLove is supported by unobtrusive advertising, and the mobile app offers a single optional one-time purchase that removes ads. There is no premium tier and no feature paywall — the optional upgrade does exactly one thing: it turns off ads. Every tool is available to everyone at no cost.
Our approach to privacy
Privacy isn't a slogan for us; it is the architecture. The web tools use your browser's own capabilities to read, transform and save PDFs, so files are not transmitted to us. We don't require sign-in, we don't build advertising profiles from your documents, and we cannot see what you process. For the full details, read our Privacy Policy.
Who's behind it
PDFLove is built and maintained by a small, independent team of developers who care about document privacy and honest, no-nonsense software. We ship improvements regularly, read the feedback we receive, and fix issues as they come up.
