Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the PDFLove mobile application (the "App") operated by PDFLove ("we", "our", or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the App.

2. Description of Service

PDFLove is a mobile document scanning application that provides:

  • Document scanning with automatic edge detection and perspective correction
  • AI-powered Optical Character Recognition (OCR) with image preprocessing
  • PDF tools suite: merge, compress, convert to Word/images, and more
  • PDF password protection with industry-standard encryption
  • Digital signature placement on documents
  • AES-256-CBC encrypted document vault with PIN protection
  • Custom text watermarks with configurable position, opacity, and density
  • AI-powered object counting from photos
  • PDF import from device storage or URL download
  • Document organization with categories, favorites, and sorting
  • Image filters (Color, B&W, Enhanced)
  • Multi-language support (20+ languages)
  • Document sharing, printing, and ZIP export

3. User Responsibilities

When using the App, you agree to:

  • Use the App only for lawful purposes
  • Not scan, store, or distribute illegal or prohibited content
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Not use the App to infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Be solely responsible for the content you scan and store
  • Maintain the security of your vault PIN

4. Device-Based Identity

The App uses device-based identification rather than user accounts. Your device is assigned a unique identifier for subscription management. You understand that:

  • Subscriptions are tied to your device, not a user account
  • Transferring subscriptions between devices may not be possible
  • Clearing app data or uninstalling the App will remove all local documents

5. Subscriptions and Payments

5.1 Free and Premium Tiers

The App offers both free and premium features. Premium features require an active subscription purchased through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

5.2 Billing

  • Subscription fees are billed through your app store account
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • Prices may vary by region and are displayed in your local currency

5.3 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by the respective app store (Google Play or Apple App Store) according to their refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its code, design, features, and branding, is the intellectual property of PDFLove and is protected by copyright and other laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points include:

  • Documents are stored locally on your device
  • OCR and all document processing happens on-device
  • We do not access or store your scanned documents
  • Vault files are encrypted at rest with AES-256-CBC
  • Vault PINs and encryption keys are stored in hardware-backed secure storage
  • PDF passwords are stored locally and cannot be recovered by us

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Accuracy of OCR text extraction
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Security against all possible threats

While we strive to provide accurate OCR and reliable document scanning, results may vary depending on document quality, lighting conditions, and other factors.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDFLove shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data or documents
  • Unauthorized access to vault contents
  • Inaccurate OCR results
  • Service interruptions
  • Any damages arising from the use or inability to use the App

10. Document Security

While we implement security measures including AES-256-CBC encrypted vaults, PDF password protection, and hardware-backed key storage, no system is completely secure. You acknowledge that:

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your vault PIN and PDF passwords
  • We cannot recover lost vault PINs, encryption keys, or PDF passwords
  • Physical access to an unlocked device may compromise document security
  • You should maintain backups of important documents

11. Modifications to the App

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time without prior notice. We may also update these Terms periodically. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or our business interests.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
